Basic agreements to be considered for a volunteer position

Concession volunteers are required to work prior to the start of a show by making popcorn and selling concessions. They are also required to sell concessions during intermission and must stay after the show to resupply the candy, water, and containers as well as clean the lobby area.

The Greeter and Ticket Taker work prior to the show and may stay after the show to help clean the lobby.

Program distribution (may be under 18) requires the volunteer to hand out programs only.

Ushers – (must be 18 years of age) are required to work before, during and after the show. They help our patrons find their seats, stand at the back of the theatre during the show in case of an emergency, and are required to stay and help clean the theater after the show.

Staff and Administrative Volunteers

Box Office volunteers have the opportunity to work during the week or on weekends. These volunteers sell tickets over the phone and at the box office. They may be asked to make calls to our flex and season pass holders, helping them to reserve their seats for an upcoming show. Training is required for this position and a minimum of 10-20 hours of volunteer hours per year is required.

The House Manager is required to arrive at the theatre two hours before the start of the show (for example, for 7:30 arrive 5:30). This individual makes sure the theatre is ready to open to patrons by checking all exits, restrooms, and making sure that the heat/air conditioner is on the correct temperature setting. The House Manager counts and puts the cash in the concession and box office drawers. The House Manager greets the volunteers to be sure these individuals know which position they have volunteered for and understand the requirements of the position. There is light accounting required, such as counting and posting the box office/concession receipts for the show. The House Manager also stays after the show to be sure the theatre is clean. Training is required for this position and a minimum of 10-20 volunteer hours per year is required.

Administrative Volunteers are needed to work during regular office hours, which are 10:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday.

The tasks of these volunteers include data entry, answering the phone, helping with mailers, running errands, going to the post office and sorting the mail.
